The terroir
The vineyard, located at an elevation of between 250 and 350 meters, lies on a geological formation of limestone scree, where numerous marine fossils can be found.
The soil, which is very calcareous (pH 8.4 to 8.7), consists of two types that often alternate within the same plot: areas of clay-limestone molasse and sandier areas derived from marine sandstone.
We enjoy a Mediterranean climate, with the mistral wind sweeping through the later-ripening areas of the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation.

The vineyard
The vineyard spans 17 hectares across the municipalities of Rognes and Lambesc.
Many small plots are often nestled amidst pine forests and scrubland, infusing the wines with their distinctive flavors.
A few old plots, over 40 and 50 years old, are given special care to preserve this heritage, which is gradually disappearing in the region.
For white wines: Rolle (Vermentino), White Grenache, White Ugni, Sémillon, Sauvignon, and Aranel.
For reds: Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Counoise, Cinsault, and Cabernet Sauvignon; for AOC wines: Caladoc, Marselan, and Merlot; for regional wines.
The vineyard has been farmed organically since 2011:
- Natural grass cover and legume-based green manure (field peas, vetch, mustard, and cereals)
- Treatments kept to an absolute minimum, using copper and sulfur, or herbal infusions and decoctions (horsetail, yarrow, stinging nettle, chamomile, etc.)
Special care is taken in training the vines, with meticulous suckering in the spring. The main goal is to produce a harvest at optimal ripeness that best expresses the terroir.

The cellar
The winery has recently been modernized with a stainless steel fermentation facility.
Our many small-capacity tanks allow us to make as many single-vineyard selections as possible before blending.
The winery is equipped with a robust cooling system featuring temperature-controlled tanks, which are particularly well-suited for the production of white and rosé wines.
Another, more traditional cellar is reserved for aging wines in 225- and 400-liter barrels (no new barrels) or in terracotta or stoneware amphorae.
