The estate

The vineyard, located between 250 and 350 m altitude, is situated on a geological area of ​​limestone scree, where many marine fossils are found.

The soil, very calcareous (pH of 8.4 to 8.7) is presented in two types often alternating on the same plot: areas of clay-limestone molasse and more sandy areas resulting from sandstone rocks of marine origin.

We benefit from a Mediterranean climate swept by the mistral wind in late-ripening sectors of the Coteaux d'Aix en Provence appellation.

The vineyard consists of 17 hectares in the communes of Rognes and Lambesc .
Many small plots are often enclosed in the middle of the pine forest and the garrigue , imbuing the wines with their flavors.
Some old plots of land, over 40 and 50 years old, are particularly well cared for to preserve this heritage which tends to disappear in the area.

For the whites : Rolle (Vermentino), Grenache blanc, Ugni blanc, Sémillon, Sauvignon and Aranel.

For reds : Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Counoise, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, for AOC / Caladoc, Marselan and Merlot for Vin de Pays.

The vineyard has been managed using organic farming methods since 2011 :

• Natural grassing and green manure based on legumes (fodder peas, vetch, mustard and cereals)
• Treatments reduced to the bare minimum, based on copper and sulfur, infusions or decoctions of plants (horsetail, yarrow, nettle, chamomile…)

Particular care is taken in training the vines, with very precise bud removal in the spring. The main objective is to obtain a harvest at optimal ripeness with the best possible expression of the terroir .

The winery has recently been modernized with stainless steel tanks.

Numerous small-volume tanks allow us to make maximum selections by plot before blending.

The winery is equipped with good refrigeration capacity with temperature control of the tanks, particularly well suited to white and rosé winemaking.

Another more traditional cellar is reserved for aging wines in 225 and 400 litre barrels (without new barrels) or in terracotta or stoneware amphorae .
